ABSTRACT

Marcus Mosiah Garvey (1887-1940) is a major figure of Black nationalism and Pan Africanism. An indefatigable orator, world traveler and skilled organizer, he was also a charismatic, controversial personality who founded the largest Black organization in history, the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA).
