Biography

Cécile Cottenet is Professor of American Studies at Aix-Marseille Université where she teaches 19th- and early 20th century U.S. cultural history. Her fields of expertise are at the crossing of African American Studies, and Book and publishing history. Her research has taken a transatlantic turn, focusing on the historical emergence and practices of literary agents.
