Maître de Conférence in contemporary history, Steve Hagimont works on an environmental history of tourism, particularly in the European mountains, from the end of the XVIIIth Century until today. He asks political, social, imaginary processes that condition the tourist commodification of the environment, with a special atttention to thermal springs, snow (and the winter sports), landscapes, rock walls (for the climbers) or climate.
