Biography
Jean-Loup Bourget holds a PhD in American studies and film studies (Sorbonne Nouvelle, 1982). He has taught at the Universities of Toronto, Toulouse, Sorbonne Nouvelle and Geneva, at the EHESS, at Middlebury College and at the Ecole normale supérieure. He is the author or coauthor of 17 books that deal mostly with classical Hollywood cinema, film genres and European filmmakers in Hollywood (Lubitsch, Lang, Sirk, Hitchcock).
