Biography
Jean-Loup Bourget (b. 1944) holds a PhD in American studies and Film studies (1982, Sorbonne Nouvelle). He has taught at the Universities of Toronto, Toulouse, the EHESS, the Sorbonne Nouvelle, Middlebury College, Geneva and the Ecole normale supérieure. He is the author or coauthor of 17 books that deal primarily with classical Hollywood cinema and more specifically with European directors active in Hollywood (such as Lubitsch, Lang, Hitchcock and Sirk).
