Biography
Mariana Villaça, PhD in History (USP), is Professor of History of America at the Federal University of São Paulo and member of two CNPq Research Groups: "Latin American Cinema" and "History and Audiovisual: Circularities and Forms of Communication". She is author of Cinema Cubano: revolução e política cultural (Alameda, 2010) and Polifonia Tropical: experimentalismo e engajamento na música popular – Brasil e Cuba (Humanitas, 2004). Currently, she is researching contemporary Uruguayan cinema.
