Pierre FARGETON is a lecturer in musicology at the Université Jean-Monnet (Saint-Étienne). A researcher at IHRIM, he has worked on jazz criticism in France (André Hodeir, Hugues Panassié, notably), produced articles and books on musical analysis (on Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, Django Reinhardt, André Hodeir), co-edited several correspondence letters (Hodeir-Panassié, Barraqué-Hodeir) and co-curated several collective works on jazz.
