Full Professor of Latin American History at University of São Paulo. She received her Master degree in Social History, at USP (University of São Paulo) in 1974 and her Doctorate in Social History, at USP (University of São Paulo) in 1982. Emeritus Professor - FFLCH-USP. Emeritus Researcher - CNPq. Visitor Professor at Brown University, Stanford University, New York University, El Colégio de México, Centro Latinoamericano de Economia Humana - Montevidéu and Universidad de Buenos Aires.
